Help me help all of us
I'm trying to build a list (and a map) of all the motorcycle only and motorcycle friendly campgrounds in the U.S. . If you would like to help out, just fill out the form below. Also there is a comment box under every campground I list on the site. Feel free to share your opinions of them with other visitors.
Only fields with a red star are mandatory. Fill in your name to receive credit for the listing. Thanks

Motorcycle camping is hard to define for anyone else. Everybody has their own idea of what you need and how to do things. I think each person is unique and each camping experience is equally unique. Every situation requires a different plan of attack. I've been motorcycle camping in about every situation I can imagine. At one point I went camping on a sport bike. I strapped a pup tent and a sleeping bag to the back of the bike and took off to the mountains. I was young then, sleeping on the hard ground didn't bother me. I was alone so I didn't have to worry if anyone else liked the arrangement. Today I travel with my partner and she doesn't appreciate the "roughing it" experience as much as I did. Hell I don't even appreciate the "roughing it" experience like I used to. When we first decided we would try motorcycle camping together, I built a trailer to pull behind our Goldwing and we loaded our camping gear into the trailer. That only went over for one trip. Sherri was immediately convinced camping was not her cup of tea. The next time we pulled the trailer it was to haul our luggage to the motel. The one thing that trip did was rekindle my desire to do more of it. It had took me back to a time of my youth. A time when I really enjoyed being outside and feeling at one with myself. Not wanting to leave her out (or perhaps just wanting her to understand the way I felt) I searched for a way to make the camping experience more enjoyable for both of us. Web searches revealed that there are many people that think on the same lines that I do. There are numerous manufacturers of small pop up campers that are light enough (or are specifically designed) to be towed behind motorcycles. I researched the options carefully and we picked what we thought was the best camper to suit our needs. We're not even doing what some may consider camping. We are vacationing. We usually have a predetermined campground that we are going to be at for at a minimum of 3 days. We carry along all the comforts of home. There are tables and chairs loaded in the camper, along with lanterns, cooking equipment, and even a screen room for enjoying an evening without uninvited "guests". The camper has a large area in front that can be used as a dressing room with a king sized bed that is positioned off the ground. Many an afternoon around camp has provoked other campers to inquire as to how we got all that gear to the campsite or where the truck is. Believe it or not it all came with us , behind the bike. People change. For whatever reason you may not want to tent camp any more, Or your partner may not be into it. There are solutions to that. There is no good reason you can't take a vacation or a trip on your bike and still enjoy camping.
